Zach Smith from Hornell is a hero.  He gave his life for his country.  Thank you.

The Hornell post office changed its name to honor him but this was against post office regulations.  Zach's father went on a crusade and enlisted some politicians.  Eventually the post office relented.

But at what cost?

The post office is near bankruptcy and it has to waste valuable man hours on this?  Our country is in trouble and yet our elected officials can spend their time on this?  And small government Bob Lonsberry supports this?

Zjabs has no patience for this sort of thing.  Zjabs is also a student of history.  Lots of things throughout the years have been named after donors or heroes or luminaries...and twenty-five years later they are renamed for the flavor of the day.  Apparently if someone more important or with deeper pickets comes along...

Better to just avoid the entire thing in my opinion, plus it saves us a few dollars to boot.
