3800 Years Ago, He wouldn't be in any trouble

I read the following story, and then waited to post the column, figuring I'd hear outrage by the Glenn Becks of the world about another chapter in the 'War on Christians.'  And I waited.. And I waited.

Finally I had to break my silence and bring you the story.

To summarize, much like Abraham, he heard a voice in his head telling him to sacrifice his son.

What's the crime?  Doesn't God and His rules trump the rules of man?  Where's the outrage over this attack on religious freedom?

I swear...sometimes I just don't understand religion.  But at least Zjabs is standing up for the rights of Christians- someone has to do it.  It's my cross to bear.

SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego man was arrested Saturday for allegedly slashing his young son's forearms at a cemetery after 'voices in his head' instructed him to sacrifice the boy.

Joseph Ramirez, 30, took three of his children to the Mount Hope Cemetery about 4:30 p.m. local time where he used a knife to slice his eight-year-old's forearms before cutting his own, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

'We're going to Jesus, we're going to Jesus,' the dad was overheard saying by witness Jaymisha Pires.

Pires, a 21-year-old mother of two, said she confronted Ramirez and begged him to stop.

When Ramirez ran off, Pires' friend, Corey Granberry, pulled the children together. The eight-year-old child was bleeding badly and Granberry wrapped a T-shirt around one of his arms.

According to the Union-Tribune, Ramirez had heard his dead grandmother's voice telling him to sacrifice his son.

As he attempted to flee the scene, he was tackled to the ground by a 60-year-old security guard.

Cops brought Ramirez to a nearby hospital to be treated before booking him into San Diego County Jail.

The eight-year-old was taken to Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego police officer David Stafford told KGTV. His condition was not immediately known.
