This really has to stop...I make one incredibly funny joke that women don't appreciate, and the fallout continues....
Recently, San Diego Comic Con tickets went on sale. This year, you had to sign up for an ID that would enable you to purchase the tickets. You then got a link that went live at 8AM PST on a given Saturday.
This took you into a 'waiting room' where you were in line.
I started using the link at 8AM PST, and finally got in line at about 8:15. I was 40,000th in line at that time.
However, this allowed me for the first time ever to see the value of Twitter. Fifteen minutes of clicking and getting error messages made me wonder if the site had crashed- so I signed up for Twitter and found out others were in line, etc. So I kept trying.
Every two minutes the screen refreshed- and I saw myself go up to 38000th in line, 36000th in line, etc.
And then four day passes sold out...and then Saturday passes sold out. I was about 22000 when Friday passes sold out. I was about 15000 when Thursday passes sold out. And was about 10000 when Sunday passes sold out. So I'm not doing Comic Con this year (don't worry, I have an alternate plan to go to a convention). And Johnny X has season tickets to the Chargers so we'll hit a game this fall to make up for missing the city.
But I've learned to value Twitter....I keep growing as a person.
