Comment to AC's column
Glad the site is back up..... did the government take over its administration?
Anyway, AC said the following: "I posted links to four separate occasions when Barack Obama took direct responsibility for things that have happened during his presidency and still Eric insists that Obama is just a spineless jellyfish that continues to blame Bush for everything."
Which is all well and good, and perhaps true.
But Zjabs did a column a while back, when we were under the Bush regime asking what good is it to take responsibility for things if there are no consequences?
Zjabs is sick of people standing up and saying "I take responsibility for this..." and that being the end of it. I mean if we followed the actions of our leaders to the logical extremes, Osama Bin Laden could show up on the White House lawn and say "I take responsibility for 9/11" and everyone could have a good laugh and send him on his way. That's essentially what happens when our "leaders" "take responsibility" for things. How about wholesale changes of upper management?
Given that there are no consequences, I don't see why AC is trumpeting Obama "taking responsibility" for things. Heck, pay me $400,000 a year along with a $50,000 annual expense account, a $100,000 nontaxable travel account and $19,000 for entertainment AND make it so there are no repercussions to my buddies if I "take responsibility" for errors and I think I could learn to enjoy the job.
