Of homos, clapping seals and the amen choir
Found the following- http://www.latimes.com/news/science/la-sci-brothers27jun27,0,407199.story?coll=la-home-headlines It will be interesting to see what the kooks come up with once it's proven that some cases of homosexuality aren't "choices" but rather biological. I'm sure they're already working on how to condemn the queers- maybe "God makes fags but he hates them anyway"? A little long but catchy. ------------------------------------ I was thinking the other day. I'm considered a leftie by some on WOTL which is hilarious as I support property rights more than they can ever hope to, as well as despising social programs more than they could imagine doing. But apparently I'm a leftie as I have no problems with sex, drugs and rock n roll. I bring this up as from time to time, someone on WOTL will write a column with a left-wing slant. I may agree with it, as will Lon and a few others. Or someone will write with a hard-right slant and I will argue against it as will others. Suddenly some of the WOTR will dismiss it as "the usual suspects" or "the clapping seals", and state how predictable our reactions are. Which is funny. I noticed this on a column Vanessa wrote. She stated that soldiers were hated now unlike during World War II. I noted that this appears not to be true as the left supports the troops but opposes the war. I also stated that we weren't alive during WWII so we get the romanticized version- I'm sure there was a level of dissension even then. She disagreed with me, which is fine. But the comments to her column were the usual Amen Choir from the WOTR. Which was rather predictable. But I wonder...why is it when Lon, Jim Martin, the Return of Flandersberry, Zjabs and a few others come at it from one view, we're clapping seals. Yet when Hawkeye and others always agree, and come in with incredibly predictable (and poor) arguments, this is different somehow? I get so confused. Must be that damned need for consistency and fairness that I have... -Zjabs (Rochester's Official Columnist)
