Yet now, as some people see it, I "lived off" her, while my two older brothers who were married, made their own way in the world. (with generous loans and gifts from my Mother.)
They didn't have time to drive her or spend time with her, but I am referred to as the sponge, the ne'er do well "one" who lived at home, until I was 27. I "wish" I had been a pothead. (actually I always wished to be a hippy; maybe that's why the long hair, and beard now???)
Sorry, just ventin'. I will have to go watch that movie. Thanx for the food for thought.
AXM little john Editor's Note: atleast Troubled Water didn't live at home for that long, but he did sponge for a very long time, and I think most of us resent him for it.
i'm glad he never mooched off of me.
thanks John
Editor's Note: one of the reviews mentioned that, and with this one and the one I thought of the outcast in his own way knew more and better as to what was really going on.
its a good movie, you may enjoy it.
thanks Miss K, good to hear from you again

I too can relate. I sort of lived with my Mom, off and on?, after my father died, 1971. The year I returned from Vietnam. She didn't drive, and I was the one she used to lean on as my younger brother and sister were only 14, and 10. 1976 I got a job at Kodak and in 1978 got married myself.

Not to burst your bubble about the plot, but that story was done years ago, I mean centuries ago in the KJV bible. The family outcast was named Joseph, and he did end up saving the whole family. : ) It is one of my favorite stories!
