I know I broke a promise. i am sorry. Hope you forgive me as I am sure flocks of people rushed to my site to see the latest update on the kitchen renovation. However, I have a good excuse. i wanted the kitchen rather settled before I showed you the almost final result...... so are you ready?????
Here it comes. Picture #1 is the new counter - corner sink - curtains and the pink granite rock that I say defines my home. That pink rock my mother-in-law bought me fifty-three years ago from Montana. She paid $5.00 and could not believe she would ever spend $5.00 on a rock. It has sat in the in the revered spot ever since. I have told my sons when I leave this planet to take the rock and have it cut in half, then they each will have a piece of the rock called home.
The lamp in the corner is Nellie's lamp. I posted a whole story about Nellie's lamp last summer and maybe will repost it to bring everyone up to speed.
The second picture, since I can only put up three is my newly painted brick wall and the new black side by side....and finally, if you are still facintated with this story is a shot of the kitchn showing the new oak floor which is truly outstanding.
For those of you are are considering hiring me, my resume has been updated. It now lists Techie of the year, , Great American Bird Count person, and Interior decorator -- oh and writer to boot. I did cross out meter reader as well as I guess I am never going to star in a movie..... but hey you never know!
