MOVING RIGHT ALONG....

from the house that looks like it blew up!

It is going good everyone!!!!!  Well, pretty good.  That is my kitchen remodel that i am referring to.  There is a  young man, with whom I became acquainted about a year ago - who is a true craftsman in his own right.  It was this guy who convinced me that I could afford a hardwood floor which is what I truly wanted from day one.

My selection is called Red Oak Natural.  The boards are 3 3/4' wide.  Wood is my one of my favorite things.  I never tire of looking a the richness, the colors, the knots, all the interesting little streaks and lines which seems to give each board their own personality.  My guy, Joe showed up Saturday morning.  He, with a helper, worked the entire day stopping at six p.m. and returning on Sunday to finish.  The finished product is just plain breathtaking.

Once again, my photo's, in my opinion, do not do the floor  justice -- but I wanted to keep everyone up-to-date on progress.  The first picture is way down to the original boards.  And one can see from there.

The transformation is doing well.  My painter is stopping tonight for my colors.  The next column I write about the kitchen hopefully will be the painting done, the hoosier back in place with new doors and hardware..I can replace my own door knobs which by the way I bought on line at a great price as  well as my new curtains.

The grand finale will be the delivery of my new side by side refrigerator -- and my little special touches with stuff... so that is the news for today.

Now that I have brought you up to date on the remodel - I am going to the Cottage by the Sea to check what may or may not have happened yesterday - then i am going to vote in the Primary.  I cannot run my mouth about all that is wrong if I do not participate.... so off to do those errands.  I will take my camera so watch for a Lake Ontario Bulletin...

P.S.  I have about 20 sq. feet of red oak flooring left over... case anyone has a small job....I might try the Craigs list trick.
