Drum Roll Please!!!! The absentee sink returned home today with a different look. It went from white to silver while it was gone and is also sporting a brand new faucet.
More importantly --- look at my Counter Top!! Since I am not a photographer - the colors may not show to their true beauty - but trust me it is lovely.
After arising at the crack of dawn so I would be ready for the installation of the day, two nice men showed up at about 8:30. One knocked on the door and introduced himself as Steve. The other, Tim, had been here before. In absolutely no time, my striking new counter was installed.
It seems to me that every single day something new and amazing happens. Today was no different. While the men were working, Tim told me that he is a general contractor. They do all kinds of jobs - large and small. If one can find anyone they trust these days, you want to grab the card and run with it since the word scam or unreliable comes to mind often.
While we were chatting, I mentioned I had worked in the school system for many years. Tim wondered out loud if I might know his aunt. Of course I inquired as to who she might be.... and guess what? She is one of my closest friends. From underneath the kitchen sink, Steve sticks his head out to announce that he is her son-in-law. So folks that is good enough for me - if anyone out there is in need of a contractor… I will vouch for these guys and I will happily supply you with their names. No job too large or small, they even said they have hung pictures.
Now back to my counter top --- it is totally awesome. In case you are looking in that direction, this was purchased through Barrett Wood Products on Jessie Street. As you may remember, I talked about Bill Barrett in my earlier musing. Oh and another thing he is a lake lover as well. That, of course, scored points with me….lol.
Tomorrow is a new day….. A new project….. So my picture of the rug that is about to become absentee --- poor absentee rug --- you are not returning in a different color - - so sad…too bad…
