TROUBLE IN PARADISE

boo hoo...boo hoo

Just when I found my niche in life, something had to go wrong.  My brand new trail camera is doing it's part.  The camera takes three quick pictures of whatever gets in its view...... so on a an almost daily basis I will have scads of pictures taken as the deer come into the yard.

In the beginning there were three, a large doe and two smaller ones which the hunters tell me probably are her last years off spring.  And of course resident Fox.  Then there are always several of me walking to the camera; as well as me walking away.  Actually, it is a security camera as well.  I like that feature too should the axe murderer come across the vast empty field behind my house.

However,,,, there is TROUBLE in Paradise.  I discovered this last week, but did not want to admit it.  Last Tuesday evening, a friend looking out the bathroom window, announced my camera was taking a picture.  It was 9:30 at night.  I was thrilled to say the least because the deer usually visit in the middle of the night.  With all the lights off in a couple rooms, I watched not three, but four and i think maybe five deer having a field day in my back yard.  I was facinated and could not wait to get the sd card out of the camera the next morning.  Sure enough there they were in all their glory.  As I previewed each frame, deciding which to keep - I noted a deer walking toward my bird feeder.  If I watched really carefully I discovered that deer was stopping to nibble on something.

The something was my brand new varigated Holly bush.  OH NO, who knew deer liked Holly?

You may remember that last year I joined the Home Depot Garden Club.  That is a joke too.  I am a wannabe gardener.  In my back yard, I have three Holly Bushes (you have to have a boy and a girl) and my unusual varigated bush.  A couple of rose bushes and a peony bush.  And a few bulbs which are already shooting up green spouts.  That is my gardening expertise and the deer are happily eating them.  BOO HOO!

I called my hunter son for help who is happy to laugh and tell me, 'Yea Mom, you are like everyone - you couldn't wait to see the deer, but you want them just to pose for pictures!'  He is bringing me some chicken wire to cover my plants though.

As you can see from the couple pictures below..... it was fun while it lasted.  And if you want a trail camera - check ebay soon...

I wonder what my next caper will be.  I was thinking of becoming a secret shopper till I heard that was a scam too...  Just musin this morning... Have a good day....
