Sometimes I have difficulty understanding your hate (yes, we have discussed that term as it applies to lawyers before) for all lawyers based upon the actions of a few.

As military veterans, you and I have not(and should not)be damned because of the action of the likes of Benedict Arnold, Nidal Hasan, John walker, Jr., or Bowe bergdahl.

Many in the military have failed to carry out their duties and responsibilities, just as have many in the field of law.

My view of attorneys obviously differs from yours, but I am opposed to labeling them as thieves and liars all - there are good and bad in all professions.

Editor's Note: "I WILL NOT LIE, CHEAT, OR STEAL,

NOR TOLERATE THOSE WHO DO."

That is a code of honor

that attorneys at law,

military or civilian

just seem not to comprehend...

I can forgive them, if they have regret, remorse, or contrition...

Yet I can't seem to find one instance in real life...

How can anyone

be proud of

what they have done in Gitmo?

or to Bradley Manning

for telling the truth,

the best way he could...

No whistleblower protection for ANYONE in the military aka UCMJ and injustice for all...

Forgive US, U.S. our trespasses as we forgive those who trespassed against us, U.S.

AMEN...

Respectfully Submitted to what law and order should be, not the insanity allowed by ALL the Bar Associations and ASS -O-CIA-SHUNS who've corrupted everything including the Constitution and Bill Of Rights...

Respectfully, LJ, I ask why should I have sympathy for Bradley Manning (now Chelsea Elizabeth Manning) for the punishment received for ADMITTEDLY releasing the largest cache of classified information in American History?

Manning admitted her actions may have hurt individuals, and brought harm to the United States. She claimed that was not her intent - seems to me she might not have thought her actions out all that well. "Do the crime - do the time"

I hope you and your readers will read carefully and not dismiss Manning's admission of guilt lightly. As a veteran and military person, I find Manning's punishment, based upon her own admissions, to be less than what she deserved.

Manning said, "I understand that my actions violated the law, and I regret if my actions hurt anyone or harmed the United States. It was never my intention to hurt anyone. I only wanted to help people. When I chose to disclose classified information, I did so out of a love for my country and a sense of duty to others."

Editor's Note: Truth hurts mostly, those trying to bury it, or cover it up...

I guess we have the right to disagree, but when the pilots of that Apache, seemed to be enjoying, "lighting up" people, innocent or not,

THAT made me nauseous and ashamed to be an American...

If you are a veteran and a military man is there ANYTHING, that you might ever be ashamed of???

I answer that as the Dixie Chicks said, with one word...

BUSH---

People who idolize Bush and the Bush family of Bush Leaguers, and Bush Whackers and Wacos, are entering their own Ambush zones of inappropriate thinking of exceptionalist ultranationalism, and we have seen where that has led mankind through out history...

Just my honest opinion, and I do respect your honest opinion...

But there will be a day of reckoning for those who tolerate the UGLY TRUTH, being buried under classifications of denial...

Your question to me: "If you are a veteran and a military man is there ANYTHING, that you might ever be ashamed of???"

I notice your question begins with an "if". If there is any disbelief in your mind about my being a veteran, I would gladly provide you with a copy of my DD-214, and/or honorable discharge if you would provide me with an address to send it to.

Is there anything I am ashamed of? Certainly is! But I'm not going to allow guilt, for something which I had no personal control over, to consume me.

Nor am I going to give a pass to Chelsea Manning (who was the subject of my previous comment) for the harm she admittedly brought to individuals and the United States.

Hope I have answered your question adequately, LJ. Have a great day.

Editor's Note: The word "if" was unintentional and inadvertent I guess...

Actually I think I meant to say "IF "ONE" is....a veteran or active service member...as kind of a universal to whom it may concern...

To me, and please don't take this personally,

An Honorable Discharge is irrelevant,

when one carries a burden of hidden atrocities

masked under the rules of engagement

in a free fire zone gone over the line...

(Implied or Explicitly Denied)

There is no JUST CAUSE

for some actions and OVER REACTIONS.

(Even in a state of war, and the fog of war.)

Yet I "try" not to judge any one man, unless I have walked a mile, (or ten), in his moccasins...

I just don't like "IT", all the BS, and hype,

when some people on the news, seem to "gloat";

in their affectatious "airs" of superiority,

as in "OFFICERS" of the COURT...

Some people will never be accountable or responsible for their actions and the consequences...

Some people will never apologize to other nations or to the citizens of their own nation, after sending them into harms way, when they "knew", the false premises were a lie.

"A GREAT BIG SHINING LIE" and "they" tolerated all those who told the lie, and cheated for profit, and stole from every Tom, Dick, and Harry, they could swindle in doing so...

That was Vietnam, and that was then.

This is now, and it has happened again...

Have we learned anything from these wars?

Or as we used to say in dark, gallows, twisted humor,

"Are we having fun yet? I fear some think so. But they were not there, going to hell and back, as Audie Murphy once said..."

Actually Bradley Manning and Chris Kyle have a lot in common. They both were whistle-blowers in abstract ways...

But only one of them did it for money...

That thing about mammon, and gaining the world, just fogged up my brain...
