Mark Sanford is no Colonel Peron, that's for sure.
 
His year long romance with an Argentine woman, unlike Peron's courtship of Eva Duarte, will most assuredly not lead to his being elected President, as was the case with Colonel Juan Domingo Peron back in the 1940s.
 
Perhaps if Governor Sanford had served in the military, his tawdry affair might not now be destroying his career.
 
But then, had he been a military man, instead of a spineless hypocrite, he'd likely have avoided making a fool of himself, crying his eyes out and babbling to the press like a little school girl, while showing his wife, his children, and the entire country that when the good lord was handing out character and class, he was off visiting the latrine.
