“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.”
Joseph Goebbels
Americans have this thing about ulterior motives, basically we don't respect them because they reflect a lack of quantifiable convictions, moral character, ethical insight and principles that another human can relate to. This is where ole Barry is right now, and he has got to be frustrated beyond belief! I mean he has tried everything to give himself a bump in polling numbers, the press is churning out millions of pro-Barry propaganda pieces every day... to no effect.
It's funny how the press was all over it when the story was that Romney and Obama were in a dead heat, but now that the writing on the wall has become increasingly clear that the tactics that got him thus far are powerless to help him with even tiny and miniscule rises in the polls. Republicans are used to not taking polling data seriously, mostly because we are aware that the left believes that they can manufacture truth with consensus by projecting what they want to be true, and then actually does it. It worked for much longer than I would have every imagined was possible, but alas the day has arrived where they've lied and told half truths with political motivation so much that they no longer are considered a source of facts. It’s going to get much worse and never get better, thank God!
When I say that things will get much worse and not get better I am of course talking about the mainstream media. What does everyone expect Barry’s media proxy cultural warriors to do now that they have blown any vestige of credibility that had going into this election cycle? If they try harder, Barry pays more political capital than they all possess collectively. If they try less, Romney will no doubt beat him from head to toe as the truth has been kept from the American people and Barry will be completely exposed and totally vulnerable without top cover. It’s like going into a tank battle with no armor on your tanks… He might manage to fire off a few rounds, it is to be expected actually, but when he realizes that he has no protection and takes a round or two in the tailpipe he’ll understand that the he can’t hide any more if he wants people to trust and vote for him.
On the other you have the press just pounding every single tiny detail that paints him in a negative light, and Romney’s stock is rising. What blows me away is that Obama seems to have chosen this strategy on purpose, or believes that the mainstream media will get their groove back and rescue him before it is too late. SO let’s look at some of the things they tried so far…
The Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case: Caught grossly misrepresenting audio and video tapes, photos of the victim 10 years younger than he was at the time of death and a couple tablespoons of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and bused in outrage (over false information of course) and their attempt to make Florida, a make or break swing state btw, the scene of racial tension (I’m sure rioting would be okay with them too if Barry got that bump he’s looking for).
Romney hates dogs: Nice try, but it kind of became a political disaster when it was pointed out that Barry wrote that he ate a dog. Ooops! The mainstream media lost interest while picture of Barry woofing down various doggy dishes started taking root on the internet.
Romney sucked the life out of Bain Financial but Barry seems happy to take the money too, so this is a dead stick before it even started, but that’s not where Barry and his proxy attack dogs left it. Had they left it be there he might have gotten something out of the attack, but the mainstream media couldn’t help themselves and kept at it. The problem they ran into was that Romney’s response was that this is a business world reality that Obama obviously didn’t get. Conservatives understand that risk is inherent with growth, and this basic lack of understanding of how things work in reality has taken this from a flat response to one that actually went south on him.
Barry tried to come off as an evolved man, implying that if you don’t agree with him you are unenlightened, but a huge majority believe Obama’s rhetorical reversion was about politics, not a personal moral journey. Even those who are fine with gay marriage, may find it unseemly to see Obama waving the rainbow flag so vigorously in pursuit of cash. Or in other words this is another failure to bump Barry into the realm of statistical possibility, and he’s running out of silver bullets.
Of course all of this is just reactions to Barry and his proxy attack dogs, and if Romney can continue to avoid going negative with an “in kind” response he looks mature and responsible and Barry looks like the guy the mainstream media hid from us in 2008. If Romney can save the really heavy duty artillery for the debates, he can also put Barry’s temper on national display as he gets hammered mercilessly in the first debate. In other words I am suggesting that if he can refrain from acting like Barry’s handlers and attack dogs act, he won’t know what to expect in the debate, and if caught flat footed (which we all know he hates) all Mitt needs to do is give Barry the media attention that the media refused to give him. For the first debate that it. For the second I would expect and wait for Barry to get nasty and take the opportunity to scold him for being childish and request that he tone down the hate and try to remain objective. Then on the third debate he’ll be so flustered even his teleprompter won’t be able to help him!
The only thing that hasn’t been done, and I haven’t suggested yet, would be to assemble the political equivalent of a doggy shock collar to stop dogs from barking for Democrats. What if Romney saved every single bullet possible (for maximum impact and effect) and then responded to attacks from the left in reaction to intellectually dishonest portraits of both candidates. So if they run negative ads of a Romney look alike driving down the road with Fido strapped to the roof of the car, he counters with Obama not just eating dog but throw in a few photos with Barry and Michael Vick smiling for cameras. Teach him and those doing his dirty work for him, that if you go there you had better prepare yourself because the counterattack will be totally disproportionate in driving home the talking point… “When Barry is done playing dirty pool, I welcome him back to the debate. What is he afraid of anyhow? All I am proposing is an in kind response when he tries to avoid the topic and create a mess where he gets tagged as often as he decides to attack. Give him control of his own pain and allow him to tone it down if he doesn’t like the heat. He’d have to resort to putting the dirty tricks aside and standing in contrast to the man he is running against.
