For delivery, an A+. For content, an F...one of the worst SOTU I have witnessed in my many years. It was like a RICH kid with DESTITUTE parents begging for all the goodies he, yes he, wanted. Editor's Note: It wasn't his best performance that is for sure. Like you said though, he delivered the speech well, but the substance was substandard. Personally, I thought his swipe at the Supreme Court was over the top and that he should either apologize or be held accountable for bullying a branch if US government as the nation watched.
Editor's Note: Yep
Editor's Note: Stone faced and unimpressed.
Editor's Note: He needs to talk to Barney Frank is he is looking for someone to pin blame on for our financial woes. Bush and McCain warned of the impending disaster, and Barney Frank is on the record of calling for them to shut up and quit being hysterical.

I thought I was watching this from Kansas.

He prefaced his scolding of the Supreme Court Justices by saying, "...with all due deference...". Well, his comments showed no deference (respect) to the justices, at all. It was like saying, "I don't mean to be an a*shole, but let me be an a*shole."

Did you see the camera shot of the Joint Chief's when he announced his intention to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"? PRICELESS!

He implored Congress to get off the perpetual campaign trail and get some work done. I guess he wants the stage all to himself this year. Cut through all the pretty talk in his speech, he is a nasty, vicious man, willing to throw anyone of any party, loyalty, or dignity under the bus in order to make himself look good. Oh, and he has become an expert at revisionist history to blame his failures on the Bush admin. But I'm sure we all got warm fuzzys every time he mentioned the First Lady and new directives she'd be leading. He is thrusting her into the limelight, and I think it is possible that he's trying to position her as his successor. How big of an ego-boost would that be for him?
