There seems to be an effort to link Americans' elation with the demise of OBL to the celebration in the streets by Muslims with the fall of the Twin Towers. Let me explain the difference to Jim, and others who seem hell-bent on trying to place shame where it doesn't belong: Osama declared war on INNOCENT MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN the world over. A maniac who indiscriminately takes human life, to include large percentages of people with the same basic religious philosophy, is unacceptable. People buying groceries for their families, having lunch at an outdoor cafe, attending funerals for their loved ones, or innocent schoolchildren blown to unrecognizable blotches of bloody matter are not a threat to his jihadist movement. That signifies a sadistic, amoral, worthless piece of human scum. To put a pile of puke like this on the same level as the Flight 93 victims is incomprehensible. Americans weren't so much cheering his end as the relief in knowing that there will be a drastic reduction in loss of innocent human life. While 'collateral damage' is a repulsive yet real part of war, killing for shock value cannot be tolerated. Should I sometime in the future revel in his departure, it will be for the fact that my grandchildren have a better chance to live the American dream in peace and security. And if the Seals had given me the opportunity, regardless of the risk, I'd have participated, without hesitation, for God, family and country. Repeat after me: GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. If the words tend to stick in your throat, maybe you reside in the wrong country.
