I've been an active member of "Writers on the Loose" since January 2003. In addition to giving me an opportunity to polish my writing skills, WOTL has provided a venue for the exchange of ideas with other writers on a wide range of issues. The interesting people who write here and the user-friendly environment make this the best internet site for writers that I have found.

I have enjoyed writing here immensely. The part I like best is actually meeting some of the other writers. They get together to share a meal and good times. Good fun.

I have been a member of Writers on the Loose since August, 2003. We have an awesome group of folks here who bring forth a wide variety of writing subjects and styles. Since I've joined WOTL, I have never looked back. Sometimes my account runs out, but inevitably, I come back because I feel like this is my 2nd or 3rd, maybe 4th home!

My family and friends have often told me that I was a good writer, but I always shook it off as them just being kind to me; like telling a six-year-old that his indecipherable drawing of grandma's house is a masterpiece.
Then, when I found Writers On The Loose, I thought that I would give it a try and see what complete strangers thought, and I have been surprised, pleased, and motivated by many of the positive comments and feedback I have received.
I am unable to produce a story, poem, thought, etc., as often as I would like, and I am unable to type as fast as I can think, but when I do post an original article, I can only hope that my critics will enjoy it, and be truthful, gentle, and entertaining in their comments, and offer me positive and constructive feedback.
I look forward to being here for awhile, and I look forward to seeing you here too.

When I joined, I didn't fully know what I was getting into. I came because a friend wrote here and recommended it. I stayed because I enjoy writing fiction and feel that Wotl provides me with an good forum to present my work and a desire to keep writing.
True, there are tough moments, but there will be in any community, even the close knit ones. And while politics and opinion pieces are the majority, fiction and poetry have their home here as well, and become welcome gems. In all, I'd say you get out of it what you put into it.

WOTL has given me the opportunity to practice writing for the public material which I used to keep private. It's always good to know that a certain group of folks will read, critique, applaud, and occasionally hammer you. For me, it is the perfect place. It makes life much more enjoyable.....and always, always fun.

I have been a reader of this site since it's inception, and have just recently joined as a paying member. My research shows that I could not have found a better site. One only needs to enter an email address and make the proper payment to become a member, while other sites require such things as age, gender, education level, marital status, and income level before membership will be granted. And one does not have to navigate through the ads on this site, as is the case of many writers sites. Additionally, I like the idea of the community monitored website to deal with any problems which may arise. Come take a look, wont you?

I'm fairly new to this - but the experience has been very positive. Most of the writing community involved on this site is supportive and friendly. It's a great outlet for anyone with something to say!

This is really fun and a hobby that just fell into my lap. Anyone can write and you don't have to be perfect - as long as you can get your point across. There are a variety of people here with one thing in common; we have an opinion.

I joined WOTL in January 2003, at a time where I was just discovering my creative voice. Writing here gave me the opportunity to develop my craft and to accept the immediate feedback from other writers and readers. It became the springboard for publishing several books of essays and poetry, and a children's story book due out this Spring. And, oh yes, I also met my husband through this website. WOTL is a great place to visit - it changed my life!

I enjoy reading and writing on WOTL for many reasons. Mostly because it gives me an outlet for my opinions. I am not a creative writer - I am op ed type of writer. But most of the creative writers on the site are terrific!

Writers on The Loose has been a terrific web site that allows me the opportunity to write and write and write. It's cheaper than therapy and much more productive.
I especially appreciate the opportunity to give and receive feedback. I also have the opportunity to dump anyone's comments I do not want to post.
Writers On The Loose designer was ingenious, allowing the ordinary person an extrodarinary experience.

I was one of the "charter members" of this website. After three years I gave it up for a while. But inexorably I was drawn back into the fray.
Suffice it to say, that many of my better thoughts were showing up, hanging around a little while, and then vanishing without a trace. WOTL is, if nothing else, my thought-journal. If my thoughts are of use to others, that's icing on the cake. If my thoughts challenge the reader, it's the ice cream on the side. If my thoughts...OK, this analogy is tapped out.
There is a refining in one's ideas that comes about by writing them out, having them challenged (gently, if you please), and defending and/or re-examining them, that cannot be had in any other way.

You know, a long time ago I was told by a journalism teacher that the best writers often write when things in their lives are not at their best. I have always kept that thought in mind and have noticed over the years that when I am in my happiest moments, I either do not write or what I write is not worth the time, paper, and ink. However, during times of despair or stress I seem to become a machine. My words flow from my mind down into my neck, off my shoulder and down my arm, into my fingers, and spill out in a rhythmic clicking on my keyboard and onto my monitor.
This is what the WOTL is about, a site to share words that cannot be spoken or heard but read and absorbed by the imagination. A place where everyone has at least one thing in common…..
The mind and understanding of a writer.

I enjoy writing about anything that happens to come to mind. It can be the weather, growing up in Rhode Island or bad drivers. Someone else can usually relate to it or have a similar story to tell. It is fun.

WOTL is a great place to express your opinions, try out your poetic skills or just post a joke. A place to find spirited discussions of local and national issues.

WOTL offers a dynamic outlet to express my political views. Thanks to Bob Lonsberry and WOTL I have had the opportunity to develop a steady readership base. WOTL allows me to express opinions without the censorship common on newspaper editorial pages. If you are passionate about writing or about expressing your opinions, WOTL is the place to be.

This is the best site for ease of use, functionality, and quick interchange between writers that I have ever run across... not to mention that it is very addictive, at a bargain basement price!

I've been writing at Writers On The Loose off and on since 2005. I like the diversity in ideas and styles that are represented. The site is set up in a way that allows people to see your ISP number when you leave comments. This allows them to get some personal information about you. Threats of physical violence and stalking behavior are acceptable, which adds an element of excitement if you disagree with those on the religious right!
So jump right in! Sign up for a trial membership and give it a try. If you like it, stick around and join our happy family.

WOTL is best described as an outlet. A place to be creative, critical, humorous, cynical, and sometomes even friendly. Somedays its group therapy, and some days its best ignored. One thing for sure is that if you ever post here you will always come back.
I started in 2004 and quickly gathered a small following who always read my musings and always asked for more.
I have taken breaks for various reasons due to time constraints but I always come back to share my thoughts. Try it, you'll like it.

This is an easy to navigate site where you can hone your skills and meet other creative people who share your passion for writing. WOTL is the best writing site on the Net.

Writers n the Loose, we affectionately call it WOTL, is addicting and a great outlet for many forms of expression. We have writers, artists, photographers, comedians and even poets all sharing the same stage. The atmosphere ranges from cozy friendships to old grey battleships blazing away at one another through the comments feature here. There are more fancy sites, sites with more folks who frequent them, and sites with more features, this is true. What you wont find elsewhere is the unique mixture of personalities who all love to laugh with and at each other day and night, from the east coast to the west. The pace is just right, so even folks who aren’t expert typers can have some fun, too! So come on in, and hang out with us, you'll see and it’s free! They have a trial thingie where you can test your skills before you fork out the $20 bucks for a membership, or you can just hang out and drop comments for other folks who have written articles. It’s all good and I promise, we don't bite... Much :)
